Yes we are a beautiful area in the Morro Bay State Park. Hiking trails galore….BUT….most NOT Dog Friendly. There are only two sanctioned Dog Friendly walks, on-leash required.
1. Black Hill Trail is located above the Morro Bay golf course. It is really an easy climb. Once you get to the top, the view of the Bay and Ocean is spectacular. You really get a full glimpse of how this area is laid out.
Directions: From down town Morro Bay; Travel South on Main Street, make a left on Park View Rd. (through the golf course) and continue on Park View Rd. up to Black Hill Rd until it dead ends into the parking area. From Los Osos area; Travel North on South Bay Blvd. until you reach State Park Rd (to Morro Bay), make a left. In a short distance you will come to a fork in the road, go uphill onto Park View Rd and make a right onto Black Hill Rd. Plenty of signage and poop bags.
2. Montana de Oro offers one single dog friendly area, on-leash, at the Ranger Station across from Scooners Beach. You can walk along this ridge, at the beach, and by the Ranger Station.
