When we include Fido in our travels, we want to make sure that we know “What’s Happening” in and around the area we visit. Morro Bay has lots to offer Travelers with pets. Although Morro Bay is a “dog friendly” town, make sure you know that your Pooch is not allowed to stroll at the Farmers Market on Saturdays and your dog must be leased on all city beaches. Morro Bay has a Leash Law.
There are Poop Bag dispenser stations on Morro Bay’s Embarcadero walk; at the Chess Board, on the walkway to the Rock, and at Tideland’s park. There is one poop bag station on Dunes Street between Morro Ave. and Main Street, provided by La Serena Inn. Poop Bags are free. Dispense your “duty” in any of the City trash cans.
Many restaurants are pet friendly. Just ask for bowls of water. Frankie&Lola’s also offers a YAPPIE meal, but its not on the menu. For dinner during inclement weather, the Flying Dutchman is the only option with a covered roof over a heated patio.
Doggies play at the local Dog park. It is well maintained and divided into two areas, one for small dogs and one for large dogs.
Two dog friendly off-leash beaches are within a 15 minute drive.
Want a fur-free evening, just use one of the Pet Sitters in the area.
This website gives you all the information you need for a safe and wonderful stay for the entire family on California’s Central Coast and in the City of Morro Bay.
